The Zuvintas Nature Reserve protects the largest wetland complex with a lake in Lithuania, an important place for waterfowl to nest and stop over during migration.

The Zelsva Botanical and Zoological Reserve protects typical communities of broad-leaf forests with hornbeam characteristic to Southwestern Lithuania: Hornbeam, swampy deciduous forests, alluvial forests habitats of the European Community importance and The finding places and habitats of the protected species (Hedera helix, Hordelymus europaeus, Vicia dumetorum, Euphydryas maturna).

Liuliskyne strict nature reserve have been established to protect the wet broadleaf forest communities; hornbeam forest, swampy deciduous woodland, and alluvial forest habitats of the  European Community importance, and finding places and  habitats of the protected species (Arctium nemorosum, Platanthera chlorantha, Dendrocopos leucotos, Grus grus);

Liepakojai Botanical reserve has been established to protect the alkaline fen habitats of the European Community importance and finding grounds and nesting sites of the protected species (Liparis loeselii, Dactylorhiza ochroleuca, Acrocephalus paludicola).

Kiaulycia botanical-zoological reserve main value wetland and grassland birds, sedge communities, meadows, alluvial grassland, lowland meadows,  transition mires and quaking bogs, Fennoscandian mine ral-rich springs and springfens, Fennoscandian deciduous  swamp woods, swampy woodland habitats of the European  Community importance; the finding places and habitats of  the protected species (Dactylorhiza ochroleuca, Gentiana  pneumonanthe, Eriophorum gracile, Salix lapponum, Vertigo angustior, Bombina bombina, Acrocephalus paludicola,  Crex crex, Porzana porzana, Circus pygargus, Luscinia svecica, Tringa totanus, Limosa limosa);

Buktbale strict nature reserve has been established to protect the typical communities of the de ciduous forests; hornbeam, swampy deciduous woodland,  and alluvial forest habitats of the European community  importance; and finding grounds and habitats of the protected species (Alisma lanceolatum, Bromopsis benekenii,  Cerastium sylvaticum, Lythrum portula, Platanthera chlo rantha, Dendrocopos leucotos, Grus grus);

Amalvas botanical-zoological reserve consists of part of the Amalvas mire with the lake, the biological diversity and nesting sites of the pro tected species (Porzana porzana, Lyrurus tetrix, Luscinia svecica, Botaurus stellaris, Porzana parva); stageing places of the migrating birds; the affected wetland habitats of the European Community importance being restored.

Zaltytis – typical euthropic lake with the characteristic fauna and flora; stageing places of Botaurus stellaris, Porzana parva, and migrating water fowl;

In Pazelsviai botanical-zoological reserve there are typical communities of wet broad-leaf forests, hornbeam forests, swampy woodland, alluvial forests, herb-rich spruce habitats of the European Community importance; the finding  places and habitats of the protected species (Hordelymus europaeus, Corydalis cava, Cerastium sylvaticum, Huperzia selago, Platanthera chlorantha, Poa remota, Dendrocopos leucotos, Ciconia nigra, Clanga pomarina, Euphydryas maturna)
