Objectives of the establishment

Aukštadvaris regional park was established to protect the highly valuable Aukštadvaris hill region from a natural perspective, including the lake-rich upper reaches of the Verknė and Strėva rivers; to preserve cultural heritage values, among them the unique urban complex of the town of Aukštadvaris (the church and monastery complex, the park with greenery and the first trout farming pond system in Lithuania, the hydroelectric power plant, the Aukštadvaris hillfort, and Gallows Hill), the Bagdanoniai hydroelectric power plant with its channels, as well as the Lavariškės, Moša, Pamiškė, Žuklija, and Strėva hillforts.
